Music Lessons at Maroubra Music School

Maroubra Music School offers piano, drums, singing, guitar and saxophone lessons for students ‘3 to degree’—from preschoolers aged three through kindergarten, primary and secondary school to adults, with tuition from beginner to degree level. Based at 325 Malabar Road, we welcome students from Sydney’s Eastern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs and beyond.

Our Four Score approach lets students focus on a single instrument or explore piano, drums, voice and guitar, developing complementary musical skills as their interests grow. Solo and small-group lessons combine practical playing with relative and perfect pitch training, rhythm, harmony, technique, improvisation, music reading, composition, Jazz and Classical Theory, and electives of Animation and Film scoring. Students explore classical, jazz, rock and Latin music, alongside songwriting, recording and creative projects, and we have a Studio Recording band and Choir.

Blake Kearney is a classical music graduate, New York-trained jazz musician and multi-instrumentalist with orchestral, band and session experience. He developed the Clear Pitch training system for absolute pitch and is undertaking a music-focused Master’s degree in neuroscience in relation to how children benefit from music and develop pitch skills. Blake has taught more than 10,000 students across over 50 Sydney schools, including most schools in the Eastern Beaches and Eastern Suburbs.
